GAYATRI DEVI - Is an incarnation of Saraswati Devi, consort of Lord Brahma, symbolising the �shakti� (strength) and �dev� (quality) of Knowledge, Purity and Virtue. Saraswati Devi is held to be the patroness of the Arts, being a poet and musician, as well as skillful composer. In the form of Gayatri Devi, with the blessings of Lord Brahma, she is believed to have given the four Vedas to mankind.

Gayatri appears with five faces and ten hands holding, sword, lotus, trident, disc, skull, Varada in left and goad, noose, a manuscript, the jar of ambrosia and Abhaya in right.

The meaning of this mantra is �May the supreme God enlighten our minds to guide us towards the just path�. The mantra is also a request to the �provider of light and life� � the sun (savitur).

May we obtain your supreme fault-demolishing radiance,
May you direct our minds towards the true path.
